EU AI Act Compliance
In accordance with the EU Artificial Intelligence Act — a regulation establishing requirements for the safe, transparent, and responsible use of artificial intelligence — we wish to inform you about how PatentMaker uses AI and what this means for you as a user.
PatentMaker uses Large Language Models (LLMs) to assist users in drafting and prosecution of patent-related content. The platform generates suggestions and draft content but does not make autonomous legal decisions; the user retains full review and final authority over all outputs.
In line with Article 50 of the EU AI Act, which requires that users are clearly informed when content has been generated or assisted by AI and when they are interacting with AI-powered features, PatentMaker commits to the following:
- Label AI-generated content within the platform and, where appropriate, in exported documents
- Clearly indicate when you are interacting with an AI-powered feature
- Reflect AI usage and limitations in our Terms of Service
- Update privacy documentation and explain what information is sent to AI providers, how it is processed, and which third-party AI services are used
